Rising Star in Rumba “YES WE CAN”

When he was recruited by Werrason as an animator to partner Bill Clinton and featured on the album Solola Bien as his debut for Wenge Musica, it was difficult at that time to ever predict that he would run his thing with an ever increasing level of success.

Celeo Scram is at it… strongly proving to be an artist you don’t want miss any of the things he puts his name on. Remember Orthornasie with Fally? Also recall Madilu Forever? What of his own debut album, Nzoto na Nzoto, that came with tracks like Amour Chiffonier and 3 Degrés?

Now the second album out, YES WE CAN, Rumbalicious is convinced that Celeo ranks high among the new crop of artists from the RDC. And so we must celebrate his success to the fullest.

On this YES WE CAN album of ten solid songs he has hit the mark spot on… and YES the duo with Juene Pato demonstrates that!

Celeo Scram is Rumbalicious!

Wenge Heavy Weight on the slow, easy and nice

A good friend of mine once said to me that there are certain times when you really dont need to say many things, or write numerous paragraphs to get your point/ message across.

I am tempted to have a strong conviction that this song H& M by Adolphe is one such incident and that it may not be a lone and isolated one that we shall encounter as we journey through the wide and deep transverse of rumba.

Music is enjoyed in many ways…dancing… singing…humming…or having it passively as you engage in other things (secondary/ tertiary consumption)…. It still carries you off in more or less equal waves.

This is one such such song that you may experiment with any of the forms above and you can give us your story. Simple title track, ie H& M and a simple enough video of single set, but having everything else in its correct place, format and timing.

Rumbalicious thinks its a great and heavyweight song from a heavyweight Wenge artist….. from the Suspension album.

Adolphe Dominguez TATA= RUMBALICIOUS in tonnnes!

Kiamangwana Verckys & Orchestre Veve

A serious blast from the past indeed…. and they are not gone out of the picture….

The latest album Infiltre is indeed great. A first impression it does sound like Bana OK. Then slowly you get the original drift… the sax…the Veve sax… distinctive, unique. Doesn’t the occasion when the sax alternates with vocals sound peaceful? It is actually like they are engaged in dialogue. Thats music.. get Infiltre.

Ochestre Veve, Nakoma Juste…..Rumbalicious!

On the last stretch to rumba

Simple like it is…things that make you attend in SILENCE! These great guys came together to get us one of the greatest rumba units ever. Yes among the greatest!Played with the greatest…still remain great to date!

Canta Nyboma, Syrian Mbenza, Loka Masengo, Bumba Massa and Wuta Mayi. That’s them, Kekele.

Each one of them bringing in and commanding an incredible track record of compositions, performances, name it. reason for their coming together being a return to the rumba…where and how it started!

With three albums to their name as Kekele- Rumba Congo, Congo Life and Kinavana, and then two dvds- one that compiles the two albums of Congo Life + Rumba Congo and Kinavana on its own dvd. Great stuff….

If you are young get this to surprise and amaze your parents…. and bet you, they will confirm that dancing!

Kekele…..just Rumbalicious!
